And Then She Feels Like An Angel Talking

Yesterday I had pretty much the best day ever. My mom got up early and woke me up with coffee and hash brown from Dunkin' Donuts.

Brigadoon went amazingly on Thursday, and most of the cast decided to dress up kind of crazy for school on Friday. I came up with this.

I was goofy, smiley, and lazy all day, like I had spent too much time in the sun. I think it was the gloves that made me feel so ridiculous.

It was gloriously warm out and smelled like summer. I never realized until recently how gorgeously green my backyard is.

These are my favorite shoes I've ever owned. I wore them to my Bat Mitzvah, and somehow I can still manage to squeeze my feet into them. They're too gorgeous to get rid of, and in the right light they sparkle like crazy.

forever 21 skirt and blouse, vintage corset and gloves, beverly feldman shoes, gifted ring and tights, borrowed hat

If you know the song "Rains in Asia" by Jump Little Children, my day felt exactly how that sounds. And if you don't know it, listen to it!

This jazzy tight embellishment from Park & Cube is calling my name. Do I smell a thoroughly plausible and possibly super fantastic project coming on? Yes, yes, I believe I do.

Taken by my most favorite photographer, as you can tell, this is just a snowflake in the avalanche that will be Brigadoon photos. More coming soon, I promise!

Tonight!

I broke fifty comments for the first time on my last post, and I just wanted to send out the most enormous sloppy kiss to everyone who reads my blog and encourages me to keep sharing all the things I love. Thank you.

vintage sweater and bangles, diy-ed target shorts, vintage keds

This all makes me feel like I should be playing tennis in the fifties.
The pink pockets are sewn on, from another pair of shorts.
I spotted the sweater while thrifting aimlessly with Sylvia and we both fell in love with it, so we have joint custody. A granny sweater made in France? What could be sweeter?

Speaking of France, I WANT TO BE HER. Scott is one of the only people who really makes me wish I could have a Freaky Friday kind of incident and wake up as somebody in one of his pictures.

If you love France and Impressionism and impossibly gorgeous writing as much as I do, I highly recommend Luncheon of the Boating Party by Diane Vreeland. It's a work of fiction, but it beautifully narrates how Renoir came to paint the famous work and how the lives of everyone in it coincided with his. One of my favorite novels.

Brigadoon opens tonight! Wish me luck!

FINALLY.

AFTER EIGHT MONTHS OF PACKETS AND ESSAYS AND ARTICLES AND TRIVIA GAMES AND MULTIPLE CHOICE TESTS, IT'S FINALLY OVER.

I HAVE SURVIVED AP EUROPEAN HISTORY!

I think, to celebrate, I want to stay here.

Is there anywhere more tranquil and beautiful than Greece? I think not. It seems like the perfect place to escape from real life.

Cuffed boyfriend jeans and sequined pumps courtesy of Jak & Jil? I am in love.

Vintage sweater, Mango leggings, Steve Madden flats, vintage Liz Claiborne hat

Forgive my attempts at invisibility, but I was too lazy to put on makeup and wash my hair and therefore looked like a complete sloven.

It was really moist and sticky out yesterday. I normally hate that kind of weather, but the rain and humidity made everything look lush and green and fertile, and my entire yard smelled like dirt and rain in a really nice way.

While I was taking pictures, my mom yelled out the window that I looked like Monet. I guess it was probably the hat.

Only four days until Brigadoon! It's going to be really good. I promise to post pictures of my costume because it's super awesome. There's lots of plaid involved.

Ay, laddies!
