In The Spirit

My getting into the spirit for Paris is growing exponentially by the hour, I swear. Earlier today I watched Amélie for the first time, it seemed like a rite of passage to do so. It was kind of weird and goofy but I enjoyed it. Audrey Tatou is so cute! And I love the whole Luncheon of the Boating Party subplot. If you are a complete Francophile like myself and haven't seen it yet, you will enjoy it.

After that I considered watching Paris, Je T'Aime but a French double feature seemed a little excessive (so maybe I'll watch it tomorrow). Instead I drooled over every piece of clothing A.P.C. has to offer on their website and compiled my favorites above.

More adventurous crazy fashion people might be totally turned off by the trademark simplicity of A.P.C. but I am totally in love with it. If I could only shop at one store for the rest of my life, this would undoubtedly be it. Maybe because when I picture myself wearing these clothes I am strolling down Boulevard Saint-Michel with huge sunglasses on, carrying a baguette under my arm with that delicious leather tote on my shoulder, and a passerby mistakes me for Sofia Coppola...

... daydream ending now. Sorry.

In short, A.P.C. is gorgeous and French and wonderful and I would slay my firstborn to be outfitted in that striped top and those perfectly fitted jeans.

My mom and I are leaving Martha's Vineyard tomorrow, which is kind of bittersweet. I have grown to completely love being here, but now I get to go home, spend one last night partying with my friends, and jet off to Paris! Must now go write up a capsule packing list so I don't end up taking my entire closet with me!

I love Amelie and Paris, Je T'aime! I still want to learn French so badly, but Russian is so darn time consuming! I also admire A.P.C. for it's French simplicity...sigh.

Amelie is my favorite movie! So good. I really need to see Paris, Je T'aime. I would die for those green flats and the pink pleated shorts. I'd probably wear them together, too, haha. I'm so envious that you're going to Paris!

Paris was beautiful and magical as I imagined it would be. I loved Amelie, so quirky and quaint:) Do drop by Cafe Des Deux Moulin in Rue Lepic, Montmartre (the restaurant where Amelie works) and have a cuppa. Oh, and do visit Versailles if you have the time. It's simply amazing. Hope you have as much fun as I did!

I love Amelie! I'm definitely going to watch it again before I go to get myself in the parisian mood. How long are you going for?

Oh how I love Amelie... it's about time I watched it for the 394828934 time. I remember the first time I saw it was when I was 13 or something and knowing my luck, my mother walked straight into the orgasmy scene at the begining, haha =P! Anyway, even though those clothes are very simplistic, I can imagine anyone with grace and style (or a big baguette) looking absolutely beautiful and eye catching in them. =] =].

amelie is one of my favourite films, and audrey tatou is just perfect for that role! i've got paris je t'aime in my little pile of "to watch" films. apparently its very sweet and wierd too. i absolutely ADORED the trailer!

i'm personaly a fan of simplicity, cause i like to mix plain clothes with more elaborate, different ones (i think it makes the different ones stick out more^^)so i just loved the clothes on your image (the bags and the green flats are adorable!)

I'm indecisive about going to Paris or Stockholm for my birthday in August. I'll keep an eye on your blog to see the impression Paris made on you^^

Yeah- I'm totally jealous of Sofia Coppola's life. And have fun in Paris! I'm so jealous of your adventure there! I used to go every year, but have had to cut back on international travel for the time being. Sob.

Enjoy Paris! I visited when I was 17 and loved it. I'm sure you will too!

Amelie was so great! I still want to see it again. Paris Je t'aime has some great ones. My favourite was the American woman going to Paris. The worst was with the guy that plays Frodo in LOTR, that one I found really bad. I still recommend it for when you don't have much to do!

& HAVE FUN! I love Paris so much! So jealous :O
