Sweets

Vanilla, pistachio, and rose petal macarons from Ladurée, Anja Rubik for Vogue Paris, illustrations by Cedric Rivrain, a chateau in Bugnien, France via The Style Files, dreamy dresses from Anthropologie, Le Voisinage by Alicia Bock, French pastry chef Pierre Hermé at home in Paris via The Selby, a lovey moment via Le Love, Julia Roitfeld at home in Manhattan via The Selby, Natalia Vodianova for W shot by Craig McDean.

Some of the prettier things that have been floating around my inspiration folders for quite some time. Can you tell how badly I want to eat a macaron?

Also, Georgie tagged me in a sweet little survey.

What is your current obsession? Vintage Russian pins, The Hazards of Love, slouchy clothing, and Paris (though that is basically a perpetual obsession).

What is your weirdest obsession? Jeopardy.

What are you wearing today? Black jeans, slouchy bright green tee.

What's for dinner? Salmon.

What would you eat for your last meal? Tartines.

What's the last thing you bought? A vintage La Perla bodysuit that I cannot wait to wear.

What are you listening to right now? "The Hazards of Love 1 (The Prettiest Whistles Won't Wrestle The Thistles Undone)". I swear I might never listen to another album again.

What do you think of the person who tagged you? She has one of the prettiest, most elegant and unusual blogs I have ever seen. I always enjoy reading it.

If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished, anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be? An apartment on Boulevard Saint-Michel.

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? To Goodwill.

Which language do you want to learn? Italian, Russian, and more French.

What's the last book you read? Timequake by Kurt Vonnegut. It was okay.

What is your favorite color? Soft grey, turquoise, coral, navy blue.

What is your favorite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe? Maybe my black and white vintage dress, because it's beautiful and fits me perfectly, but it's impossible to pick my absolute favorite.

What did you do last night? Had the greatest evening ever with two of my friends. We made a huge amount of food, sat outside on the cushiest lawn imaginable, picked flowers (my favorites were the peonies, they smelled so divine), watched 40 Hottest Hotties of the Nineties on VH1, and played with five packs worth of sparklers. It was amazing.

Describe your personal style: All over the place, occasionally girly, sometimes colorful, unusually accessorized.

What is your favorite tree? Weeping willows and cherry trees.

What are you going to do after this? Make tea, then put on a movie and do some online window shopping.

What is your favorite fruit? Avocado, starfruit, peaches.

What inspires you? Music, old clothes, my friends, the motions of the sun, and the way spring evenings smell.

Your favorite books? Luncheon of the Boating Party, The Alchemist, The Bell Jar, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Virgin Suicides. I cannot choose a favorite!

What is currently making you really happy? That I got into Our Town! Just an ensemble part, but still I am really happy. I just love being part of the show and seeing it come together and spending time with all my favorite theater people.

What song would you like played at your funeral? I would have to agree with Georgie and say "Bohemian Rhapsody."

What delighted you the most this week? When our student body president Rickrolled the pledge of allegiance over the loudspeaker. It was brilliant.

Are you artistic or crafty? How does your passion show up in your life? I consider myself artistic in a literary sense. Writing is my first passion, and I have a deep love for poetry. I write for my high school's literary magazine and try to get published in online literary journals. My dream is to be published in The New Yorker.

With which historical figure do you most identify and why? Claude Monet, mainly because he did amazing and innovative things for the world of art and I aspire to do something as artistically meaningful as he did.

Oh! I love weeping willows and cherry trees! They're so pretty! All we have around my house are ugly oaks and some maples, which I do like. :D

Did you get your tea and online window shopping? It sounded fun. I enjoy online window shopping too, especially at Modcloth.

How funny, a Parisian friend took me there (Lauderee) recently in London, & I'm going to post about it again. I tried reaching you a while ago to see if you wanted to do a link swap - I've had you up since, so when you get a moment please take a look at my blog:
http://streetstylelondon.blogspot.com/ and let me know if you'd like to swap.
I see you've got my friend in Hong Kong, Jun, the sleekgeek, up!
