This Modern Thought Can Get The Best Of You

"And the early mornings were beyond my wit to tell about, full of coolness and freshness, and the whole world wet and sparkling with dew."
- Too Late The Phalarope by Alan Paton

On Friday I did my first bit of thrift shopping since I started up the blog, and I think my results were not too shabby.

Target tank, thrifted vest, Gap dress altered into skirt, gifted belt and ring, scarf made by me, thrifted shoes

The scarf is made from an old skirt because I really wanted a circle scarf from American Apparel but could not fathom spending so much money on it. (However, I might succumb and get one in Fluorescent Red because the color is incredible.)
I love how the ring complements the buttons on the vest.

I also love these photographs from demigod Hedi Slimane.
Read up about him, because he is utterly fabulous.

(I insist that you look at more)

I leave you with the most interesting thing I heard all weekend:
"Fashion and politics are both about recycling shopworn ideas and making them seem fresh and inspiring."
- Sex & The City

Sasha looks like a cross between a cupcake and an 80s bride in that white dress!

You did incredibly well with your thrifting. I especially love the purple piping and buttons on your vest. I've just stumbled on your blog and I loved visiting. You've been linked and I'll be back soon!

One of my fave SATC quotes...good find on the shoes, I can never find shoes thrifting because I don't have like a size 6/7 shoe, damn it.
