This Strange New Pantheon Of Extraordinary People

Smoochies for the tag from Emmy. I shall tag I don't eat bread, lace and cake, this wheel's on fire, and glitterpills.

one picture
one poem

Sonnet by Billy Collins

All we need is fourteen lines, well, thirteen now,
And after this next one just a dozen
To launch a little ship on love's storm-tossed seas,
then only ten more left like rows of beans.
How easily it goes unless you get Elizabethan
and insist the iambic bongos must be played
and rhymes positioned at the ends of lines,
one for every station of the cross.
But hang on here while we make the turn
into the final six where all will be resolved,
where longing and heartache will find an end,
where Laura will tell Petrarch to put down his pen,
take off those crazy medieval tights,
blow out the lights, and come at last to bed.

one song

"Daylight" by Matt & Kim
(I hated this song the first dozen times I heard it,
but now it seems to be the only thing I listen to,
so give it a shot.
The lyrics are really beautiful.)

one item of clothing
My friends keep telling me to wear more pink,
and I really need a new bathing suit.
(J. Crew)

one place
Rue Dauphine, Paris. I took this picture and the dog is real.
This was the morning I left paris. It was very cool and sunny.

one disney princess
I have always felt a certain kinship toward Belle.

one quote

"As I see it, part of the art of being a hero is knowing when you don't need to be one anymore, realizing that the game has changed and that the stakes are different and that there isn't necessarily a place for you in this strange new pantheon of extraordinary people."
~
Hollis Mason, Watchmen

P.S. As much as I am trying to restrain myself from blog vomiting, there will definitely be another post much later today.

Oh my, I'm so excited I'm not the only one who likes Matt & Kim. I went to one of their shows, and it was a night full of sweaty dancing amazingness.

Thanks for the comment. I wanted to be Belle all the time. I think it was the fact that she read books.

I like overthinking things, so I'll do it as soon as I have more time :)

Oh my God, Belle! Do you remember that part right after Gaston proposed to her, and she ran out on the hill singing "I want adventure in the great wide somewhere, I want it more than I can tell..."? That used to make me cry. I can totally relate.
