Fall Wardrobe // I NEED YOUR HELP!

Slim blazers, simple tees and tanks in dark neutrals, a romantic lace skirt, sheer blouses in creamy shades, black bandage skirts, quintessential ballet shoes, brown leather oxfords, short slouchy boots...

In short, what I dream of wearing this fall. Dark staples offset by dreamy, ballet-inspired pieces, accessorized with colored tights and simple, elegant gold jewelry...

... and these.

VINTAGE FLORAL DOC MARTENS.
I AM IRREVOCABLY IN LOVE WITH THEM.
BUT I NEED YOUR HELP.

I found the perfect, perfect pair on eBay and the bidding ends in thirty hours, so I need you all to answer me this: how do Doc Marten sizes run compared to regular shoes? If I normally wear an 8 or 8.5, what American size would I be in Docs?
This is of the utmost importance. Thank you thank you thank you!

(Topshop blazers, ballet flats, printed crop top, and lace shirt; Old Navy tees and tank; Forever 21 skirts, sweater vest, boots, and floral blouse; Steve Madden oxfords)

oh you must get the docs!

I hear that docs, run big so an 8 probably be right. Not sure I try on a 5 one time and they were a little tight.

Randi said...

don't know 'bout Doc's sizing, but these are gorgeous! Raise your highest bid by $20 and count me in on your quest :)

Kara said...

8 should be good. I wear 8 but have some docs in a 7.5 that are just a WEEEEEEE bit tight.

lydia said...

that's what I dream of wearing this fall too!!! i love all the pieces.

i'd say pick a half smaller size for the docs.

the docs are absolutely perfect.

I'm not sure how it works in american sizing, but they always run a bit larger.
I'm a 39 and I've found 38's fit me better.

For the doc's you could always try heading over to zappos.com and seeing what others say about the fit. You could also Google "Doc sizing" or something. They are wonderful!

I'm thinking of buying the actual main size i use, not bigger not smaller. I`ve tried it and it really felt like I did not need a size bigger.

Kinda weird if they make you feel like McDondalds to you know;P

Good luck though!

btw. I like your blog and I will be comming back for more;)

Docs are in UK sizes. I'm usually a US 9 or 9.5 and my docs are UK size 6, so I would say you'd probably be a 5

alice said...

Yum yum yum, these are all too much. Now all I need is some money! Wonderful finds x

If you're a US 8, then you'll be a UK 6 - no bones about it. Don't listen to Lily!

Caroline Robianto said...

great picks. docs usually fit true to size. if they are a bit tight you can always get them stretched. you need to break them in for sure. when i fist got mine i was totally in pain for the first few days.

Looove these! The blazers are fabulous, especially the plaid one!

Love the docs, not sure about the sizing though!

Anonymous said...

best of luck with the Docs! normally if i'm not sure about sizing, i'll just email the seller the measurements of the shoe from heel to toe and then hopefully it would give me a better idea of sizing. loving all your fall stuff!!

My favorite pair of docs were purchased at a salvation army 8 years ago! I bought them when I thought I was Gwen Stefani, forgot about them, and then pleasantly surprised myself last Halloween when I found them in the costume box! They're not floral, but there's hope you may be able to find you're own kick-ass pair out there...mine look like rhino skin (the sparkle laces were from the Gwen phase....) hahaha

My goodness, those Docs are phenomenal! How much are you paying for them?
I saw a pair like this in a vintage shop up north, but they were a ridiculous size. A five, or something outrageous.

Oh, they are so beautiful! I hope they fit!
