Channeling Katharine

First of all, the winner of the Fragonard giveaway is Vanessa! Congratulations, and I had a smashing good time reading all of your comments.

My months and months of scavenging for the perfect semi-slouchy, high-waisted, awesomely cuffable pants came to fruition yesterday when I bought these navy blue trousers.

I got this shirt at a fantastic vintage shop in Paris. The colors are so glorious, and the slim cut reminds me vividly of a Ben Sherman men's shirt.

Again, photo credit goes to the lovely and wonderful Sylvia.

While we were prancing around outside, I came across the cutest little fuzzy creature crawling around the picnic table. I quickly named him Iggy, and he responded rather affectionately.

I think he was going for my pocket!

Vintage shirt and trousers, black ballet shoes, borrowed sunglasses

As soon as I put this outfit on I thought of Katharine Hepburn. She is without a doubt one of my greatest inspirations for the way she approached fashion and everything else. Her androgynous clothing and outspoken, often challenging attitude make her, in my opinion, one of the most unusual women in history.

The fact that a woman at that time could be considered beautiful, elegant, and timeless for reasons other than possessing blatantly obvious sex appeal is really incredible and inspiring. Katharine Hepburn gives hope to all the intelligent, confident women out there! I think we can all learn great lessons from her.

my relations with catipillars are quite sad. Not one, but TWO of my catipillars commited suicide (by burrying themselves in their food) when we raised them and second grade and when my teacher gave me the class chrysalis it failed to hatch.
I'm still on the search for the perfect pair of pants.
love your shirt! Katherine Hepburn always seemed so elegant and stong.

gorgeous outfit and i adore your inspiration.

i think the sex appeal was different as well. i think in a way their sort of sex of appeal should be something we should admire for if we compare their sex appeal to what is now considered sex appeal, it is completely different.

nonetheless, lovely outfit. hope you understand my rant.

Those pants are everything trousers should be. Very Katherine Hepburn-esque and timelessly chic.

Oh, I totally thought, "Hm, those trousers are reminiscent of Katherine Hepburn!" before I saw the bottom.

Thanks for the very sweet comment! It's actually my first comment from someone I don't know personally, so it meant a lot to me. Keep spreading the blogosphere love!

I think shes in amazing inspiration too, Katherine Hepburn. She proves that women can be comfortable in their own skin and be sexy too!

I think your outfit is well put together, from the tucked in plaid shirt to the cuffed slacks. And woah its a caterpillar!
